Art Nouveau
This is art movement that mostly focuses creating a new style and yet it’s also the meaning. It was also focused on to modernizing design and creating something new and different. Be very decorative and ornamental plays a big part and the use of the lines in very different ways. It was inspired by different design and was used for different decorative designs. (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2019).

An artwork that can be part of this movement is a dragonfly lady brooch, designed by Rene Lalique in 1897-98. It is a piece of jewelry made from gold, diamonds and moonstone. Different materials and techniques were used to create this beautiful piece. It is a lady combined with a dragonfly, the wings and tail are positioned in such way that it gives the effect of movement (Golden Age Beads, 2019). Rene was important person in the developing of the art nouveau. This is one the most famous artwork from the art nouveau movement, because it follows a lot of the inspirations and characteristics from art nouveau. The use of line was very important, and this design make use of flowing curved lines. There is focus on a woman, which leads to feminine and it is very detailed. The brooch is also very symmetrical along with the nature as its main inspiration. It fits perfect in the art nouveau movement with a beautiful and decorative design. (St-pauls.ea.dundeecity.sch.uk, 2019).

We are inspired by nature daily even if it is years later and another insect. Another example of art nouveau artwork is called the Butterfly chair, designer called Eduardo Garcia Campos in 2012. It is inspired by a Mexican butterfly called Monarca, the wing shape of the butterfly is the main inspiration. It is a one-piece design that consists of two chairs that mimics the two wings of the butterfly when put together. The chairs are very functional and can be made from different materials like aluminum and plastic. (Studios, 2019). The chairs follow some of the characteristics of the art nouveau movement. The design of the two chairs is symmetrical to one another and has natural organic forms just like butterfly wings. It is decorative but also simple, these chairs are very interesting and comfortable to use. Line in this design is the outline of the chair and it is design in such a way that shows movement. Butterfly chairs are unique and is a good contemporary design for the Art Nouveau movement.
